Arrival in Antananarivo
Welcome to Madagascar! As a traveler entering the Malagasy territory, your adventure begins in Antananarivo. Upon your arrival, our Vivy Travel team will be there to welcome you and assist you with all the necessary procedures. We recommend that you exchange currencies before entering the country. Once that is done, you’ll be driven to your hotel in a private car. Your hotel, located near Ivato International Airport, provides a friendly and attentive welcome that caters to all your expectations. After checking in at the hotel and having some relaxation time, your guide will join you to give you a general introduction to the destination of Madagascar.

Antananarivo-Andasibe
After your breakfast, get ready to head towards Andasibe-Mantadia National Park.It’s about 140 km from Antananarivo, and Andasibe is a flagship destination for tourism in Madagascar. You’ll discover the authenticity of Malagasy fauna and flora, including its primary rainforest. Andasibe is also surrounded by several villages of the Bezanozano ethnic group, known for their warm hospitality and they’ll be thrilled to share their culture with you.
On the way, you’ll make a visit to the private reserve of Peyreiras to observe lemurs, chameleons, amphibians, and much more. Just a few meters away, we’ll continue our visit to the community reserve VOIMMA. This reserve was created by the local population who rallied to preserve their environment.
You’ll have your lunch on the way.
Once you arrive in Andasibe, check in at the hotel before setting off for a night walk in the park, where you’ll have the chance to discover the species active at night.

In the morning, you’ll be greeted by the amazing calls of the Indri Indri, Madagascar’s largest lemur species. Don’t worry, after breakfast you’ll be off to meet it. You’ll start by visiting the Analamazaotra Special Reserve, a park that is home to several groups of Indri Indri and 13 other lemur species, including the forked lemur, grey bamboo lemur, diademed sifaka, brown lemur, red microcebe, red-bellied lemur and black-and-white ruffed lemur. This reserve is also home to bird species and other endemics evolving within a primary rainforest.
You’ll have lunch in a local restaurant or at your hotel, according to your preference.
In the afternoon, we conclude our visit to Andasibe with a short visit to the Vakona Reserve. This is a private reserve set up by the Vakona Forest Lodge hotel, home to a crocodile lake, various species of reptiles and amphibians, and numerous endemic plants. One of the reserve’s highlights is the lemur islet, where you can observe lemurs up close.

Andasibe- Antananarivo
You’ll have to leave the eastern part of Madagascar for Antananarivo, your new departure point for Maroantsetra. On arrival, check-in at the hotel.

Antananarivo-Maroantsetra-Masoala (by private flight)
Depending on your flight schedule, a transfer agent will transfer you to the airport to take a charter flight from Antananarivo to the small coastal town of Maroantsetra. On arrival, you’ll be met by a friendly team and transferred by road to the port. You’ll then board a speedboat for a short stopover at Nosy Mangabe.
Once ashore, your guide will take you on a guided tour of the forest. You’ll see black-and-white-backed lemurs, white-fronted brown lemurs and leaf-tailed geckos. A picnic lunch is then organized on the beach. After your picnic lunch, you’ll return to the speedboat to continue your trip along Antongil Bay towards Masoala Forest Lodge.
Once you arrive at the lodge, the lodge staff will welcome you and make sure you feel immediately at home. You can then settle comfortably into your bungalow and enjoy the natural surroundings. At the end of the day, you can admire the sunset around a fire on the beach, sharing a drink in a convivial atmosphere, followed by a good dinner.

After breakfast, board a boat for a short trip along the coast to the magnificent primary rainforest. There, you’ll have the perfect opportunity to search for red-backed lemurs, dwarf chameleons, helmet vangas and other wildlife present in the forest. You’ll explore trails through the forest’s towering trees and majestic ferns, then take a well-earned break for lunch.
In the afternoon, you’ll have the choice between snorkeling in the nearby, richly diverse coral reefs, paddle-boarding to a picturesque viewpoint to enjoy the sunset (with the possibility of an up-close encounter with green turtles), or simply relaxing in a hammock under the palm trees by the beach.
After dinner, a guided nocturnal walk will offer you a rare vantage point to observe some of the secret nocturnal animals, such as dwarf and mouse lemurs, leaf-tailed geckos or even the elusive Aye-Aye.

Enjoy a last early breakfast on the seaside terrace. Then board the boat back to Maroantsetra, where you’ll be transferred by car to the airport. There, your private charter plane will be waiting to take you to Antananarivo. During the flight, you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the Masoala Peninsula and Nosy Mangabe.
Upon arrival in Antananarivo, you will be transferred to your hotel to relax and unwind.

Antananarivo-Out
A private car will be at your disposal throughout the day to take you on a brief tour of Antananarivo city and allow you to do some shopping if you’re interested in picking up souvenirs from Madagascar. Depending on your flight schedule, your transfer agent will drop you off directly at Ivato International Airport and wishes you a safe journey back home.
