National Road 2 to Pangalane

Our exploration will focus primarily on learning the fauna and flora endemic to the Grande Île, including reptiles, amphibians and lemurs, notably the largest, the Indri-Indri. You’ll visit a tropical forest home to a variety of medicinal plants and wildlife.
Over the course of a full week, you’ll gain a fascinating insight into Madagascar’s wildlife. Discover the Canal des Pangalanes, with its vast and legendary lakes, offering a completely different landscape and allowing you to observe the daily life of the people living along its banks. A guided tour of the 50-hectare private reserve managed by Hôtel Palmarium is also on the agenda. This park offers both daytime and night-time visits for an even more immersive experience.

In-Antananarivo

On arrival at Ivato International Airport, your guide will meet you. After completing formalities, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. Once you’re settled and comfortable, your guide will join you to introduce you to your tour and the activities planned during your trip in Madagascar.

Antananarivo-Andasibe

After breakfast, you’ll head off in the direction of Andasibe, about 136 km from Antananarivo. The route provides views of rice paddies, hills, streams and rivers. The landscape is lush and green due to the humid tropical climate.
We’ll make a stop at the Peyreiras Reserve along the way, where you’ll observe various species of frogs, chameleons, butterflies and reptiles.
You’ll then continue on to Moramanga, a historic site marked by revolts against the French in 1947, and continue on to Andasibe after lunch. Andasibe’s main attraction is the National Park, where a variety of lemurs, including the Indri Indri, are the stars. The park is 80% primary forest, creating an unspoilt natural environment.

Morning visit to the national park, a veritable treasure trove of biodiversity, to observe a variety of animals, including different types of lemurs, amphibians and reptiles. Tree ferns and palm trees add to the richness of your experience.
Guided tours will be organized during the day and evening to observe the smallest lemurs, such as the “Microcébus rufus”, and tiny chameleons called “Brookésia”. If you’re lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of the Fossa at night.

Andasibe - Pangalane Channel

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Manambato, a region of lakes and the Canal des Pangalanes. You will then board a speedboat bound for Ankanin’ny Nofy. After checking in at the hotel, a night tour of the park will be organized to observe the nocturnal species present in the region.

Palmarium Reserve

A full day to visit the private Palmarium reserve and the surrounding fishing villages. you’ll spend the rest of the day relaxing, before heading back to Antananarivo the following day.

Pangalane - Antananarivo

We leave early in the morning to join route national 2 back to Antananarivo, arriving in Antananarivo in the late afternoon, where you will be transferred directly to your hotel for a comfortable rest.

Antananarivo - Out

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel according to your international flight schedule for a pleasant stroll through the city of Antananarivo. You’ll  visit local stores and artisan markets, ideal for buying souvenirs of Madagascar. After Lunch, you’ll be dropped off directly to Ivato international airport, where the team wishes you a safe return.
