Diego Suarez and surroundings

Diego Suarez, also known as Antsiranana, is the largest city in northern Madagascar. It is also the island’s third port. A former French garrison, Diego Suarez and the surrounding region are a special destination offering a variety of water and land-based activities. Among the must-sees is the magnificent Ramena beach, considered one of the most beautiful in the world. Stretching over several kilometers, this beach alone is worth the trip to Diego Suarez. It is located around twenty kilometers from the city and is sheltered by the small fishing village of Ramena. Here, you can enjoy a wide range of water sports in a mild, year-round climate.

Depending on the season of your visit, you can also enjoy interesting cultural visits. Ramena beach is also the starting point for the Emerald Sea (Mer d’Emeraude), a supernatural beauty with crystal-clear turquoise waters. Nosy Be Archipelago

The Nosy Be archipelago is a popular destination in Madagascar. This island is home to some of the most beautiful natural scenery in the world. Often referred to as the “perfume island”, due to the delicious aroma of ylang-ylang and spices refreshed by the humidity, it abounds in dense forest dotted with volcanic lakes and typical Madagascan flora and fauna. The archipelago also includes numerous small islands that are easily accessible for sightseeing: Nosy Komba, Nosy Tanikely, Nosy Sakatia and Nosy Iranja. Nosy Komba, or Lemur Island, is famous for being home to numerous families of lemur makis, considered sacred by the locals. Nosy Tanikely is a marine reserve with an abundance of coral, providing a habitat for numerous underwater species. Nosy Sakatia is a preserved ecosystem, protected and classified for the wonders it shelters, with its heavenly beaches, rare birds, endemic plants and much more. Finally, Nosy Iranja, the most famous of the Nosy Be archipelago, is an island that amazes all visitors who set foot on its vast expanse of white sand.
