Day-by-day itinerary
Upon arrival, you will be met and privately transferred to your hotel in the capital. Your guide will provide a briefing on the journey ahead, before an evening at leisure.
The journey south begins, ascending into the Malagasy Highlands towards Antsirabe. En route, you will visit artisan workshops known for crafting aluminium cookware, a fixture of local life.
A full day's drive westwards transitions from the cool highlands to the arid landscapes of the Menabe region. The tarmac road gives way to the red earth that defines the route to Morondava on the coast.
An early departure reveals the Avenue of the Baobabs at sunrise, before the overland journey to Bekopaka begins. The route requires crossing the Tsiribihina and Manambolo rivers by local ferry.
A full day is dedicated to exploring the Great Tsingy, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With your expert guide, you will traverse suspension bridges and navigate a labyrinth of sharp limestone pinnacles.
A second day of exploration focuses on the park's unique biodiversity. One may search for six species of lemur, the minuscule Brookesia perarmata chameleon, and over fifty varieties of bird that inhabit this stone forest.
The return journey to Morondava offers new perspectives on the landscape. Stops will be made at the sacred baobab and the entwined 'Lovers' Baobabs', before arriving at the Avenue of the Baobabs for sunset.
A full day at leisure on the Mozambique Channel. Options include relaxing at the Palissandre Côte Ouest resort or visiting the nearby Vezo fishing villages.
