Emirates to fly to Madagascar from September

Good news for travelers and the Malagasy economy!Emirates announces the launch of its flights to Madagascar starting from September 3.

This new service introduces vital connectivity, unlocking the tourism and commercial potential of Madagascar. The airline plans to operate four flights a week (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday) between Dubai (DXB) and Antananarivo (TNR), with a stopover in the Seychelles. A Boeing 777-300ER, equipped with 8 First Class suites, 42 Business Class seats, and 310 Economy seats, will operate the route.

Tourism being a key pillar of the Malagasy economy and a creator of thousands of jobs, this new Emirates route is expected to enhance connectivity from over 140 destinations in its global network, thus supporting the efforts of the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts. This ministry aims to diversify target markets and introduce international travelers to the island’s many natural attractions. Additionally, Emirates is in talks with Madagascar Airlines to offer even more global connectivity, further promoting tourism and trade.

For the Madagascar Tourism Confederation, improving air transport offerings is essential. The arrival of Emirates will boost tourism development in Madagascar, one of the main objectives of their Roadmap.

This new route represents a major opportunity for Madagascar, offering new economic and tourism prospects.
