Masoala: A Wilderness Immersion
An eight-day immersion into the Masoala Peninsula, where primary rainforest extends to the shores of Antongil Bay. This private journey is centered on one exclusive lodge, offering deep exploration of a rare coastal ecosystem.
This itinerary is defined by its exclusive access to one of Madagascar’s most protected and remote wilderness areas. Reached only by private charter and boat, the Masoala Peninsula is a sanctuary where primary rainforest meets the Indian Ocean. Your stay is based at a single, secluded lodge, allowing for an unhurried, deep connection with the environment.
Days are spent tracking the Red-ruffed Lemur through the canopy and listening for the distinct call of the Helmet Vanga. Paddle a dugout canoe on the serene Tampolo River, past mangrove roots and volcanic rock. In the village of Ambodiforaha, the air is scented with vanilla and coffee, while nocturnal walks reveal the forest’s secrets.
Designed for the active traveler with an interest in wildlife and conservation, this journey balances guided exploration with unstructured time.
